RD Calculator

RD is the habit version of FD. You put a fixed amount every month. This tool estimates maturity if you dont skip months.

Result breakdown

Maturity (approx)
₹2,00,686
Amount you put in
₹1,80,000
Interest
₹20,686

This is an estimate, not an official figure.

How to use

  1. Monthly deposit is what leaves your account each month.
  2. Rate is the RD rate, not the FD rate next to it on the board.
  3. Tenure in months. 3 years is 36.

One example

₹5,000 a month for 36 months at 7% lands near ₹2.01 lakh maturity. You put in ₹1.80 lakh. Rest is interest if you stay till end.

Common mistakes

  • Comparing with SIP returns. RD rate is closer to bank deposit, not equity.
  • Missing a month and still expecting the same maturity.
  • Using years in the months field.

Most RDs are fixed. Start a second RD if you want to add more.
What if I close early?
