A 100 watt bulb left on is a different bill from a 1.5 ton AC. Type watts and hours. You get units and a rupee estimate.

Result breakdown

Monthly units
24.00
Estimated cost
₹192.00
Watt-hours total
24,000

This is an estimate, not an official figure.

How to use

  1. Wattage from the sticker.
  2. Hours per day it actually runs.
  3. Days in the month and your unit rate.

One example

100 W, 8 hours, 30 days is 24 units. At ₹8 that is ₹192. Small, until you add ten such things.

Common mistakes

  • Using 1500 W for a 1.5 ton AC without checking star rating. Real draw varies.
  • Counting 24 hours when the fridge compressor is not on 24 hours.
  • Forgetting inverter AC cycles down.
