How to use

  1. Yearly CTC as in the offer letter.
  2. Basic percent if you know it. 40 is a common placeholder.
  3. Professional tax monthly if your state takes it. Else 0.

One example

CTC 6 lakh, basic 40%, employee PF 12% of basic, plus a rough new-regime tax. Monthly in-hand often lands in the mid 40s of thousands. Your structure can move it.

Common mistakes

  • Counting employer PF as something you receive in hand.
  • Ignoring gratuity and insurance in CTC.
  • Using this as Form 16.

FAQs

Does this include professional tax?
Only if you type it. Maharashtra and a few states do this.
Bonus in CTC?
If bonus is yearly and not monthly, in-hand months will look higher than reality.
Old vs new tax?
Tax slice here follows the same new-regime estimate as the tax tool.
Variable pay?
Leave it out of CTC if you want a safer monthly number.
